Michael J. Racenstein, M.D., graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a surgery internship at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles followed by a residency in radiology plus a fellowship in mammography and ultrasound. He is a Board Certified Clinical Diagnostic Radiologist and Medical Director of the Breast Imaging Center at Rush North Shore Medical Center where he also serves as director of the nuclear medicine section.
Dr. Racenstein has been a member of the American College of Radiology Task Force on Mammography and is the Immediate Past President of the Evanston Office, Illinois Division, of the American Cancer Society. Currently, he is Vice President of the Chicago Radiological Society and a reviewer of the Stereotactic Breast Biopsy Accreditation Program of the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Racenstein has authored several publications and appeared in numerous speaking engagements on the topics of breast cancer screening and diagnosis. He recently completed a study using computed aided detection in the interpretation of screening mammography. His research interests include genetic testing and its relationship to the early detection of breast cancer and improving techniques for breast cancer diagnosis. |
